WINTER Trail Registration Form CLICK HERE

Here’s the results from last Saturday’s MRAA Championship Tournament at Lake Ferguson. After having to reschedule this Championship twice due to C-19 and Hurricane Delta , we were fortunate enough to get it in this past weekend with beautiful weather both days. The Mississippi River had been very low for the past few weeks. I believe it’s the lowest it’s been since our last fall Championship.  I was very concerned about the lake fishing very small and anglers being on top of each other. However, mother nature had other plans for us and Lake Ferguson rose about 16’ in just over a week. On Thursday October 29th the Greenville gauge was around 14’, but by the tournament weekend of November 6th and 7th it was a 29-30’.  That’s a huge rise in a short period  of time. Again I was worried about y’all catching fish with this much fresh water in the lake. However, you awesome fishermen proved me wrong again and numerous large strings of  Mississippi River bass were brought to the scales.

Out of our 31 teams fishing the Championship, 24 teams brought in a 4 bass limit both days. The first day leaders of Chris Coy and Rudy Vanderford won this rising water shootout with a two day total of 8 bass weighing in at an amazing 35.57 pounds. Steve Tullos and David Streeter finished a close second with 32.23 pounds. The first day lunker went to Billy Hopkins and Jason Lunceford with a 5.91 lb. bass.  Second day lunker went to Steve Tullos and David Streeter with a 5.79 lb.  bass, a $500.00 prize for both teams. Under these conditions I thought this was an unbelievable catch by all teams. Congratulations to all the money winners!
