The Mississippi River Anglers Association conducted its fourth 2018/19 Winter Trail Tournament Saturday January 19th , at Lake Washington with 13 boats fishing in the tournament on a challenging weather day. Heavy rain and storms had just stopped when we took off, and it was a nice morning up to about 11:30 when a cold front passed and winds picked up to about 30, and of course the day completed changed after that. Fishing on Lake Washington Saturday was slow for the most part with only three limits being caught and three zero’s recorded too.
Last Saturday on Lake Washington, first place went to a team from Cleveland, Joey Beevers and Bobby Burton, their 5 bass limit weighed in at a nice 20.07 lbs., coming in second place was a team from Granada and Greenville, Tim McDaniel and myself, our 5 bass limit weighed in at 18.73 lbs., third place went to a father and son team from Clarksdale, Glen Brooks and Matt Brooks, their 5 bass limit weighed in at 13.57 lbs., the tournament lunker of 5.41 lb. was caught by a team from Arkansas, Steve Tullos and David Streeter. Congratulations to all the money winners.

The fifth 2018-19 MRAA Winter Trail Tournament will be at Lake Chicot on February 2nd weather permitting, launching from the Connelly Bayou Ramp. Also make a note that our sixth and final 2018/19 MRAA Winter Trail Tournament will be at Eagle Lake instead of Lake Washington on March 2nd. This a reschedule of our first tournament that was supposed to have been at Eagle, but was moved due to a fish kill.
